The farm only had an outdoor arena, which made it difficult to train horses in their home state of Washington. Explained Blackwell, “Since it rains here nine months out of the year, training time was minimal.”
The farm needed an indoor arena “for professional level training” of their horses and found the ideal building from ClearSpan Fabric Structures. Blackwell said, “We learned about ClearSpan while searching the internet for building options. We had looked at several other building options and nearly purchased a steel structure. We decided at the last minute to purchase a Hercules Truss Arch Building instead when we saw the brightness inside and learned about the option for retractable sides.” He continued, “We wanted an arena that could be used during the summer when it’s warm, so having a building with sides that retract was ideal.”
Blackwell had some advice for others looking for a similar structure. “Before purchasing a steel building, go take a look at a fabric structure because visiting one of these buildings changed our minds. Don’t be hesitant due to the fabric concept. You just need to see the material and how great the rip-stop fabric works.”
The ClearSpan arena is working out great for Golden Glory Horse Farms. Said Blackwell, “We use the building for our equestrian facility and to host Pony Club events at our farm. This structure is exactly what we were looking for and people always want to see it.”
