Challenge – Cost-effective storage building
Solution – Hercules Truss Arch Building
Size – 50′ wide x 110′ long
Application – Storage for finished goods

Dave Richards, the plant manager at Martin Rubber Company, was looking for a cost-effective, yet durable storage building for his business’ finished goods. Since 1974, the company has been making custom calendered sheet membranes for roofing, and primary and secondary containment. Richards decided that a ClearSpan Hercules Truss Arch Building would be the best choice for their storage needs.

“The cost of the ClearSpan building was nothing near what it would have cost to build a wood or steel structure,” says Richards. The business is also able to save on energy costs, because the natural light coming in minimizes the need for artificial daytime lighting.

Since the construction of the building, the area experienced a bad storm with snow, ice, rain and 50 mph winds. According to Richards, the building was unaffected by this weather. He appreciates that this ClearSpan building is not only durable, but also versatile. “One good thing about this building is that if we decide to relocate, the building can move with us,” he says.

Richards was pleased that the ClearSpan crew was able to construct this building in one weekend with no issues, and he now has a cost-effective, sturdy structure which can store 300 pallets of the company’s finished product. He states, “I would recommend ClearSpan to anyone that needs a storage building, whether businessman or friend.”
