City of Marsing
Challenge – Creating a dedicated gathering space for the community
Solution – Pavilion HD Metal Building
Size – 30’ wide x 60’ long
Application – Public Park Pavilion
Since its incorporation in 1941, the City of Marsing has been a close-knit community nestled between Idaho’s Owyhee Mountains and the Snake River. Home to nearly 1,300 residents, the city embraces a “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” philosophy, making community spaces an important part of everyday life.
Located within Marsing Island Park, the city’s new 30′W x 60′L ClearSpan Pavilion HD Metal Building was added to give residents a dedicated covered space for community events and activities. According to Jolyn Thompson, City Clerk-Treasurer for Marsing, the project was born out of a desire to make the park more functional for everyone who visits.
“We did not have a structure prior, and we wanted to create a more usable space for our community,” said Thompson.
The pavilion has quickly become one of the park’s most active gathering spaces. It regularly hosts family celebrations, community meetings, local events and much more, providing the city with the flexible venue it had envisioned from the start.
“It has been wonderful,” said Thompson. “Our community loves it and the city is so very pleased with how well it has been received.”
Beyond its functionality, Thompson has also been impressed with how naturally the pavilion complements its surroundings, while still meeting the needs of the community.
“I like how well it sits in the setting, how well it fits the space and how well it meets all the community’s needs,” she said.
The project came together through a local contractor who brought on ClearSpan to provide the structure. The finished pavilion has exceeded the city’s expectations, with Thompson praising both the quality of the structure and the positive impact it has had on Marsing Island Park.
By combining lasting durability with an attractive design, the ClearSpan Pavilion HD Metal Building has helped Marsing create a flexible outdoor space that reflects the community’s commitment to bringing neighbors together. As Marsing continues to grow, the pavilion will serve as a welcoming destination for community events and gatherings for years to come.
